Neighborhood Barbers is a welcoming, community-focused shop serving clients of all ages, kids, adults, and seniors-with classic and modern men’s haircuts, fades, scissor cuts, beard trims, and straight-razor shaves. We pride ourselves on creating a friendly atmosphere, delivering high-quality grooming, and building lasting relationships with our clientele.

We’re looking for a skilled, customer oriented barber who wants to join a tight-knit team and help maintain our tradition of excellence and consistency.

What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)

•Consult with clients to understand their desired hairstyle or grooming, from vintage style cuts to modern fades, scissor or razor work, beard trims, and shaves.

•Perform haircuts, trims, beard shaping, and shaves using clippers, scissors, and straight razors as needed.

•Ensure every client leaves happy, giving grooming advice when appropriate and deliver top-notch customer service.

•Maintain a clean, sanitized, and organized workspace; clean tools between clients and upkeep the shop’s overall appearance.

•Manage appointments, walk-ins, and client flow efficiently; sometimes handle payments or scheduling depending on shop needs.

•Keep up with industry trends, techniques, and styles to offer fresh and relevant grooming options to our clients.

What We’re Looking For (Requirements & Preferences)

•Valid barbering license (Massachusetts or currently enrolled in barber school) and relevant licensed training or certification.

•Proven experience (or barber school enrolled) cutting men’s hair fades, scissor cuts, razor work, beard trims/shaves, etc. Additional experience with beard work, straight-razor shaves, and classic styles is a plus.

•Strong communication skills and a friendly, welcoming attitude — ability to listen, consult, and build rapport with clients.

•Physical stamina: ability to stand for extended periods and perform repeated motions throughout the day.

•Reliable, professional, and punctual — able to handle a mix of scheduled appointments and walk-ins.

•A clean, organized, and hygienic work ethic; commitment to maintaining high sanitation standards and shop appearance.
